The purpose of this site is to provide a means for NMRA Division 7 YouTube committee members to review and comment on video clips for
NMRA Division 7 video projects. This site will allow me to quickly consolidate comments, reacting to editing request and video preferences.
For me, this is a time saver over consolidating long emails received at different times in different formats.
INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions start with a recomendation. If you are following the instructions, open this site in a new tab on your browser.
You can do so by Clickng HERE.
You can now refer back to the instructions while you work on the other tab!
1. SELECT PROJECT
Active project are listed on the right side of the home page. Click on the project you want to review videos for.
Each video will be identified as a PROJECT. The term project is used to distinguish from the individual video clips that we are recording and
editing. In the case of a large project like Entertrainment Junction, each video we publish will be its own project. When we do a home
layout feature and produce two videos, each video will be its own project.
2. SIGN ON
You will need to sign in by selecting your name and entering the password sent to you by email.
This is a simple log in process, as I prefer not to make you create a private password. Nor do I want to create all the extra pages to allow you
to set, change and recover your password. I'm hoping this simple model works. Otherwise I'll enhance.
This is required, otherwise bots will fill out the form with garbage and make the page unusable.
3. SELECT SCENE
Each project will be broken into scenes. Scenes will be listed in an outline format. You can select any level of grouping that you choose to review,
from a single scene to the entire video. It is recommended you work on smaller scenes and save your comments often. If you enter comments and
close your browser without saving, your comments will be lost.
The scene list will also give you a feel for the sequence of the video. It should be similar to the story board. This list can be edited as
we work on the project, so it can and will change from time to time.
From this list, click on the scene that you want to review.
4. VIDEO REVIEW
When you select a scene, the videos in that scene are listed. You can enter a rating and a comment. Comments are best kept brief and simple.
Be sure to hit submit at the bottom.
I recommend working in small sections, either by one group of like videos or on location at a time. You can view the entire project if you like,
but closing without saving risk losing a lot of work at once.
5. VIEW ALL COMMENTS
From the Select Scene page, you have the option to view all commments for a given group of videos. Keep that in mind when you are commenting.
This is the page I'll work from when editing the final video. This allows me to see all comments in one place. And in the interest of
transparency, I want you to have the same view.
